Maura McCarthy, Director of Sales and Events

After spending years in the restaurant business in many different facets, Maura jumped into the catering world when she was hand picked to launch and run Newburyport’s Harborside Catering. Six years later, after growing Harborside into one of the North Shore’s premier caterers, she joined the staff at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, where she did sales and event management. She joined Fireside Catering in 2011, and is thrilled to bring her North Shore history and sensibility to Fireside. Maura strives to personalize every event. She encourages all clients to infuse their style, vision and palate into the planning process. Her focus on custom development of every menu and event ensures that all of her clients have a personal and memorable experience. It’s all in the details!

Amy Shore, Director of Sales and Events

Amy began her career at The Ritz Carlton Boston Common, starting first as a server, and eventually working her way up to Assistant Director of Dining Services overseeing all food and beverage departments for the hotel. After three and a half intense years, Amy realized that her true passion was in wedding catering. Before joining Fireside Catering in 2010, she worked at 2 of Boston’s premiere caterers, executing a large number of events as a wedding sales manager. She brings with her over ten years of experience in the food and beverage industry. Amy thrives on exceeding client’s expectations. Her favorite part of her work is seeing the smile on the newlywed’s faces when they realize their wedding is everything they hoped it would be.

Julie Vaughan, Catering Director

Julie Vaughan originally joined the Webber Restaurant Group as the Operations Manager at The Barn at Gibbet Hill. After several years managing operations at The Barn, Julie improved weddings & social gatherings and exceeded guest expectations so consistently she was promoted to Director of Catering, in 2011. With that, her role expanded to include catering operations for all Webber Restaurant Group businesses, including Fireside Catering. Experience, creativity, attention to detail, and a high level of organization makes her uniquely apt for working with the sales teams at The Barn and at Fireside Catering to produce events that are as cutting edge or as traditional as each client wishes.

Julie started in the hospitality industry when she was 17, and graduated from UMass in Hotel, Restaurant, and Travel Administration. She has held positions in many area of the hospitality industry both in the front and back of house. Julie found leading energetic teams and creating streamlined systems was key for the company’s growing event business. Today Julie’s passion is keeping The Barn and Fireside Catering ahead of current wedding trends and creating unique charitable and community events.
